The Kornati archipelago
The Kornati archipelago is a separate and a unique group of islands, situated in between the islands of Zadar and Šibenik. It spreads over 320 km2 and embraces approximately 150 of land units which are constantly or occasionally above-sea. This is one of the most fragmented insular eco-systems in the Adriatic, which embodies no less than 1/ 12 of all the islands in the Croatian Adriatic (1185 of the islands, out of which 66 inhabited), and covers only 1 /300 of the Croatian sea area. Long ago it has been drawing attention of many boaters, divers, alpinists and other enthusiasts of nature and of what nature offers.
